Social Work

Individual Social Work

At S.T.A.R.T, we specialise in trauma-informed, relationship-based Social Work. We work holistically and with kindness, helping individuals build the capacity to meet their goals. This might include:

  • Overcoming systemic barriers

  • Developing confidence and self-awareness

  • Building practical life skills and emotional literacy

Services are fee-for-service and may be privately funded or supported through programs like NDIS. Together, we’ll create a personalised support plan aligned with your needs.

Supervision

I offer confidential, supportive supervision to help professionals grow their practice, develop their professional identity, strengthen workplace abilities, and explore career direction. Whether you're navigating challenges or reflecting on your journey, my supervision is centred around you.

As a Mental Health Social Worker, I also support those pursuing Mental Health accreditation.

Consultation

love working on program design and development, from concept to evaluation. My deep understanding of Social Work, systems theory, and community development means I can support projects such as:

  • Community engagement

  • Focus groups

  • Assessments

  • Staff training or organisational strategy

I'm flexible and open to discussing ideas—let’s explore what we can co-create.

Therapy

I offer evidence-based, neuroscience-informed therapeutic support for a wide range of challenges. My experience working with people affected by trauma has led me to use approaches that are both psychologically and somatically grounded.

I provide therapy that is:

  • Trauma-informed

  • Non-judgmental

  • Compassionate

  • Tailored to each client

  • Open to humour, where appropriate

Whether you're in crisis or simply seeking to grow, we’ll move at your pace—always with warmth and respect.

Therapy is offered by tele health or outreach via home visits, walk and talk or in nature.

Relevant Training

With years of hands-on experience at the “pointy end” of Social Work, I’ve built a strong, practical skillset. I’ve worked with clients presenting complex behaviours, multiple diagnoses, or significant systemic involvement.

I offer tailored training for organisations to help their workforce build skills in engaging complex clients—

I am especially passionate about building the capability and confidence, of workers with lived experience or non-traditional qualifications.

Example training topics:

  • Working with challenging behaviours

  • Trauma-informed practice

  • Engaging complex clients

  • Understanding FASD and cognitive issues
